OriginsBorn in Kugane to the merchant family, Shirosaki, Emiko is Midlander-Raen. Born with Midlander features of her mother and the scales of her father, she was considered rather striking and unusual to look at all of her life.Her parents, unfortunately, had fallen on hard times and owed debt to very bad people when Emiko was eleven years old, which resulted in her parents' debtors coming to collect in a way that traumatized the young girl. Now on her own, she had to commit survival crimes to survive for most of her tender, formative years.While trying to keep on the straight and narrow after finding work as an errand girl for Hingan nobility, the shadows of her past continue to haunt her every step...

HooksEmiko develops a love for botany and alchemy and is saving to open up her own apothecary. She does venture to Eorzea to learn more, but struggles due to her only speaking her native Hingan/Doman.Update: she now has an apartment/apothecary in Shirogane ward 27, Kobai Goten #77While her parents debts are not hers, as the only child carrying the Shirosaki name, the debtors consider it Emiko's debt to repay either with coin--or with her life.Her survival crimes included stealing food to eat and exchanging her body for a place to sleep. Those things she had to do left a deep scar in her heart, but despite that, Emiko still carries hope and love in her heart.If roleplays involving her parents are done, her father's name was Yasuhide Shirosaki and her mother's name was Lene Shirosaki (maiden name Collier).
